Counting Feelings & Solving Problems: Math + SEL Read-Alouds for PreK–2

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

Unlock the power of story time to grow confident mathematicians and kind classroom citizens! In this engaging session, educators will explore how intentional read-alouds can teach and reinforce essential math skills while nurturing social-emotional learning in Pre-K through 2nd grade. Participants will connect children’s literature to the Texas Pre-K Guidelines and K–2 TEKS, discovering strategies that build number sense, problem-solving, self-regulation, and positive peer interactions. Through hands-on activities, modeling, and take-away lesson ideas, teachers will learn how to bring math to life through characters, emotions, relationships, and meaningful classroom conversations. Leave with ready-to-use book lists, planning templates, and playful practices that help students count, think, collaborate, and care — all at the same time!
