Description

This session, provided by TEA’s Federal Compliance Staff, will provide a clear, in-depth review of the 2026 federal fiscal monitoring process, including the new monitoring protocols, criteria, key areas of fiscal review, required supporting documentation, and the most common findings that may affect compliance. Participants will learn practical strategies to strengthen fiscal practices, prepare effectively for monitoring activities, and respond confidently to identified issues. Designed for program and business office staff, this training opportunity will provide participants with a solid understanding of TEA’s fiscal monitoring process, sample activities to see how documentation is tested against criteria by Federal Fiscal Monitoring staff, and actionable guidance to support strong, sustainable compliance across federal programs.
