Launch 6-8 Computer Science Training - Day 1

Bring computer science and computational thinking into your classroom with Launch 6-8, a 3-day hybrid workshop for educators in grades 6-8. This training aligns with the new Tech Apps TEKS and integrates computational thinking, computer science, cybersecurity, and AI into your curriculum. You’ll receive both unplugged and plugged lessons and learn block-based coding and physical computing.

Participants MUST attend all three days (2 in-person, 1 asynchronous) to receive credit. Day 1 covers foundational concepts. Day 2 will focus on coding and learning how to use micro:bits. Upon completion of the 3-day training, teachers will receive two sets of ten micro:bits.

Upon completion, you’ll receive a CPE certificate from the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) at The University of Texas at Austin. You will NOT receive workshop credit from Region 7 ESC for this training.
