Join us for an in-depth professional development session designed to deepen educators’ understanding of the legal foundations and instructional practices essential to developing effective, standards-based IEPs for students with dyslexia. Participants will: • Recognize key federal and state laws, regulations, and guidance that direct IEP development and support students with dyslexia. • Identify the critical role of the enrolled grade-level general education curriculum in shaping the SB IEP process. • Develop comprehensive present levels of academic achievement and functional performance (PLAAFP) statements using multiple data sources, including baseline data for identified areas of need and the impact of dyslexia on a student’s access to and progress in the general curriculum. • Write measurable annual goals aligned with the PLAAFP and inform the specially designed instruction (SDI) required to support student success. • Design effective data collection methods to monitor progress on annual goals and establish systems for reporting progress to families. By the end of this session, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to create compliant, data-driven, and instructionally meaningful IEPs that support the unique needs of students with dyslexia. #DYSESC1

A practical session for Diagnosticians, SLPs, School Psychologists, TSVIs, and TDHHs focused on the evaluation process for students who are Deafblind, Visually Impaired or Blind, and Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Participants will review different types of hearing and vision differences to understand that louder and bigger do not always guarantee access. The session will emphasize identifying appropriate accommodations and modifications based on varied sensory needs and communication modes, ensuring evaluations capture a student’s true skills rather than the impact of sensory differences. Additional components include guidance on collaborative practices throughout the evaluation process, considerations from the Legal Framework that influence assessment planning and decision-making, and a review of key information provided by assessment publishers to support valid, legally sound, and equitable evaluations. #VIESC1 #DHHESC1

This is a webinar session: Behavior—it’s everywhere, and as SLPs, we see it impact communication daily. But let’s be real… navigating behavior can sometimes feel like decoding a secret language. In this interactive, 3-hour virtual session, an SLP and a BCBA team up to break down the essentials of behavior science in a way that makes sense for speech therapy. We’ll tackle common behavior myths, decode tricky situations, and give you practical strategies to manage challenging behaviors while keeping communication at the heart of it all.
